The Viitna group of lakes consists of six small lakes that formed as kettle lakes when the last Ice Age melted. Their water clarity reaches 3–5 metres.

The Viitna Nature Trail introduces the area of the Viitna lakes in the southern part of Lahemaa. Sandy pine forests and clear-water lakes provide a contrast to the bog near the coast.
