Harilaid is geographically the western tip of Saaremaa — the westernmost point of mainland Estonia. The peninsula formed through coastal accumulation processes a few hundred years ago.

Harilaid is a peninsula at the western tip of Saaremaa, whose nature trail introduces the coexistence of juniper scrub and alvar grassland. The tip of the peninsula is a slab of limestone polished smooth by the sea.
