The Vilsandi Hiking Trail is accessible only by boat, which makes it one of Estonia's most unique hiking experiences. The island sits in the open Baltic Sea, where the wind blows freely and a lighthouse stands on the rocks watching over the sea.
The island's alvars are flat but exposed to the wind. Walking across the coastal boulders calls for footwear with good grip.
Seasonal access
The boat runs from Kihelkonna usually from May to September. During the nesting season (April–June), movement restrictions apply to part of the island.
