The Piusa Cave Trail links the Piusa caves — Estonia's only natural sand caves — with the primeval valley landscape. The caves were excavated in the 19th and 20th centuries and are now home to hibernating bats.
Inside the caves it is 5–6°C all year round — a warm layer is recommended. Outside, the trail follows a pine-forest path.
Seasonal access
The caves are open from April to October. In winter they are closed to protect the bats.
