Soomaa has one of the densest beaver populations in Estonia. The trail leads to a riverside stretch where beavers can be seen at dawn and dusk.

The Beaver Trail is dedicated to Estonia's largest rodent — the beaver. Running along the Navesti River, the trail reveals beaver dams, burrows and gnawed, bark-stripped tree stumps that are signs of the beavers' activity.
