Beach

Harku Rand is a lakeside beach and swimming spot in Harjumaa. The area lies between Tallinn and Saue. Over 11 monitored years the water has earned an excellent rating every season. The nearest weather station is Tallinn-Harku (2.4 km). The Health Board conducts bathing water monitoring every summer in accordance with the requirements of the EU directive.

According to the latest EEA monitoring, the bathing-water quality is excellent. Estonia's bathing water is monitored by the Health Board together with the European Environment Agency (EEA).

The swimming season usually lasts from early June to late August. The warmest month, July, averages 18.2°C, and the water is warmest in the second half of July.

How warm is the water in summer?
